Our new discovery of Erlend's hobby, scratching his beard constantly!!

We put about 30 posters out during the opening to give them away. they are all gone!! Erlend and i decided to let audience to interact More during the show. we left a note both Korean and English on the other table saying
"Please have a look at these flyers for other exhibitions and events taking
place in Seoul over the next few weeks. Consider paying them a visit.

If you are putting on an event or an exhibition that you would like to
inform us about, please feel free to leave the details here."
This a lovely note is from Eunhee (often called mischell) who left it for us via Suzzan before she fly off to the US. it is Now part of our show on the corner of the space right next to unpacked works from yeonheedong... im sure Erlend will tell you more about it with his future curatorial plan!!

The collage collaged!!

Our publications (with catalogues i borrowed from Seoul Museum of Arts Library during Yeonheedong project last month) on the table!! NOW its perfect relational art cos its much easier for us to return them after the show in September.

Back in Seoul

So I've been back a few days already, and having a great time of course. First night was spent out with Mr. Dollars and some of his partners in crime. The following day started with a very good fish dinner at a lovely restaurant in Hongdae before we went on to the Loft 2 where lots of the 195-gang was gathered. This also included newcomer Steve who's been visiting Jooyoung for the last few days. Much lovely wine and North Korean beer. Also took an amazing photograph of Steve and our good friend the Janitor aka Security Camera Guy. Then went on to a very small bar that I would never be able to find again. The others then headed off to a club, but I opted for an early night and headed back home to make sure I wouldn't mess up my attempt to get on Korean time by staying out until 8 am and being back on perfect Norwegian time. The heat hasn't been helping either, today it's apparently 34 degrees and 80% humidity. Phew.

Went by the Seoul Museum the other day, everything was in full swing with putting up walls etc. Our space is a big corner space with an opening in one corner, so we actually have four walls. Very nice. A couple of spaces down they were building a very cool-looking many-shaped wooden room that will be very interesting to see what will be used for. The show is called "Where Euclid Walked" and I don't really know much about it yet. Haven't seen the artist list or anything, but I'm sure it will be good.

Bleh. I remember there being lots of stuff I was going to write about but sweatdrop by wretched sweatdrop this heat is draining my brain of all energy and wit.

Fingers crossed!!

Erlend mentioned something about my possible return to Seoul for the show in August. Unfortunately there is just not enough funding for all of us going to Seoul from different parts of Europe, but I've sent an e-mail to the Swedish Embassy who missed out on the op' to sponsor us last time (and the Norwegian Embassy did a damn good job funding the three Norwegian guys' travel costs). Maybe the Swedish Embassy will pick up on it this time, who knows? Anyway, time is ticking of course and it is highly unlikely in these times of vacations that we'll get the necessary funding. But keep your fingers crossed, I know my hands will be welcomed in building up the structure again and also my participation in the seminar - and miracles do happen! Big virtual kisses in the meantime to you guys for all the great work you are doing! xxx

Fun break and meeting for SeMA show

Off to Valley!! hurray!!

So Yeon, Junho, myself and Oheun Lee (who is currently studying media arts in Geneva AND translating our texts for the publication). we went off the Chungju to visit Junho studio AND to talk about the SeMA show but ended up having a great fun... here are some pics to share.

but we got caught in a heavy rain shower (sorry, no pic to prove). so sadly we had to leave the valley called Yonchue, immediately right in the middle of cooking BBQ.
Finally we ended up cooking BBQ at the Valley Not feared deluge from the water swollen with summer rains.
Over view of an old factory of Junho's father.
Another ouside view!! these are not Kim-chi pots (acutally sea-salt pots) in the picture.
Inisde view!
Another inside view. apparently, some part of this factory used to a Jimjilbang ran by someone.
Yeonhee-Dong web-flyer is next the UCLA's faculty poster in junho's studio!!
This a little pretty house in the enterance of the old factory of juho's father. also oneday Junho wants to turn the factory into artist resideny place.

Busy busy viking ship in the middle of the city. girs are screaming but the viking ship-owner guy is smiling endlessly!!

Junho's Chungju art studio.

Quick shot of the our future space (not with this partition in the middle for sure)at the Seoul Musum of Arts, meeting with curator went well. i will post further info soon.

outside of the Museum!!
More the celebration plants (for Power) outside of the bbq place i found from the city of Chungju at night.

Poster: The photo collage (preview)

Whoa. There it's done. It was a bit of work, heavy on the computer. I am cross-eyed from the constant zooming and organizing the hundreds of layers and going through more than a thousand photos. This is just a low-res preview for all of you to see, mind the fact that you cannot zoom in on the smallest parts, but they will all be fine on the HUGE poster that Bjørn is preparing for Seoul Museum of Art (opening August 23). Hope you like it.

Coming back to Seoul!!!

I don't know if anyone's still reading this thing, but I just bought my tickets to come back to Seoul next month! Hurray!

Will be there from Aug 17- 27. Will work on the Seoul Museum of Art show and some other meetings. Feels weird, but great, to be going back so soon.

Here's hoping Power will be coming along too!

And looking forward to seeing everyone again!
